Terje Rypdal, one of Norway's most talented guitarists, made his debut with the rock and roll band The Vanguards in the early 1960's. After meeting fellow guitarist Jan Garbarek in the mid to late 1960's, he moved on to jazz. The second release on ECM in 1974 is a masterpiece, featuring Jon Christensen (per), Sveinung Hovensjo (b), Pete Knutsen (mellotron, el-p) and Odd Ulleberg (fh). Side A features Pete Kuntsen's trippy mellotron and Terje Rypdal's psychedelic electric guitar. side B is an epic orchestral jazz trip with the Sudfunk Symphony Orchestra. Both sides are cosmic jazz rock masterpieces with a cosmic feel. This is a US release distributed by Polydor. Comes with an inner sleeve printed with the ECM catalog of the time.
