Art Ensemble of Chicago, an American Chicago group by Lester Bowie, Joeph Jarman, Don Moye, Roscoe Mitchell and Malachi Favors, who developed a free/experimental jazz style with roots in traditional African music. The album was recorded at Chicago's Paragon Studio in 1973, with Muhal Richard Abrams as a guest, and features some of AEOC's quintessential freaky, brooding, raging free jazz tunes, as well as some of AEOC's most popular and popular jazz tunes. But also includes organic ethno-jazz that directly reflects African folk music. Anyway, AEOC is allways amazing.
