Dick Morrissey is a British saxophonist who emerged on the British jazz scene in the early 1960s, was a core member of the jazz rock/progressive rock band IF in the 1970s, and formed the group Morrissey Mullen with Jim Mullen in the 1980s, developing a sophisticated fusion style. This album was released in 1966. The quartet consists of Harry South (p), Phil Bates (b), and Phil Seamen (ds). The ensemble's tight beat and simple phrasing give it a somewhat mod-like feel, and the groovy performance is excellent, very characteristic of British jazz of the 1960s.This is a reissue of the album released in 1993 on Norma Records in Japan. Part of the insert has been cut.
