This album was released in 1972 by the Japanese Music Group, which was formed in 1964 and has continued to pursue new possibilities in contemporary Japanese music both in Japan and overseas. Under the supervision of contemporary musician Minoru Miki, the group performs a variety of Japanese folk music, including Edo music and Gidayu, as well as a concerto composed by Minoru Miki, using percussion, Nohkan, Koto, Biwa, Shakuhachi, Shamisen, and other Japanese instruments. In addition to enjoying the appeal of the sound of various Japanese instruments, the music is not limited to the classical category, but is also a contemporary music that pursues new sounds of Japanese music.
