This album features a septet, including Bill Evans (piano), Jim Hall (guitar), Phil Woods (reeds), Spencer Sinatra (reeds), Richard Davis (bass), and Ed Shaughnessy (drums), augmented by a string quartet in an orchestral arrangement. The recordings were made in 1963 at Webster Hall in New York City.
