The Great Jazz Trio, led by Hank Jones (p), was born from his participation in Sadao Watanabe's "I'm Old Fashion" recorded in New York in 1976, and released this album in 1980 as a Japan-only project. This album features a new trio with Eddie Gomez (b) and Al Foster (ds). The album features original compositions by each member, covers of Charlie Parker and Stevie Wonder, and other urban jazz music that develops in a very relaxed atmosphere from start to finish, with B4, in which the floating sound of the electric piano played by Jones is simply delightful, being the outstanding highlight. I realized once again that there are good songs even in orthodox works like this. We should not underestimate them.
B1: All in Love is Fair
B4: Just Before Dawn
