This is an album released in 1964 by Horace Silver, an American pianist who emerged in the early 50's with his sessions with Art Blackey and made a name for himself as a representative of funky jazz. A quintet with Carmell Jones (tp), Joe Henderson (ts), Teddy Smith (b), Roger Humphries (ds), Blue Mitchell (tp), Junior Cook (ts), Gene Taylor (b) on A3 and B3 only, Roy Brooks(ds). Including the title track A1 with its gentle Latin beat and impressive theme, the album is full of great tunes with Silver's light touch on the piano. This is believed to be the 2nd. issue of the original 1964 stereo version.
