The Kroumata Percussion Ensemble, a Swedish percussion group formed in 1978 and consisting of Ingvar Hallgren, Jon Hellgren, Martin Steisner, Anders Holdar and Anders Loguin. The album was released in 1983 on BIS, a famous Swedish label that has released a wide variety of music from avant-garde/contemporary to classical, such as Ragner Grippe, John Cage's "Second Construction" (1940), Henry Cowell's "Pulse" (1939), Torbjorn's The album includes John Cage's "Second Construction" (1940), Henry Cowell's "Pulse" (1939), Torbjorn Iwan Lundquist's "Sisu" (1976), and Yoshihisa Taira's "Hieropfonie" (1974). This album is full of highlights, but the most notable is Yoshihisa Taira's "Hieropfonie" on the full B-side, in which six percussionists make full use of a large number of percussion instruments from all over the world, and their dynamic performance is excellent. His composition also has a uniquely Japanese feel reminiscent of taiko drumming.
