Released in 1970, this album is by The Last Poets, the politically charged poetry group formed by Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin in the late 1960s amid the African American civil rights movement. The lineup here features Abiodun Oyewole, Alafia Pudim, and Umar Bin Hassan, joined by percussionist Nilaja. Centered around the group’s core elements — powerful revolutionary messages and raw street-style delivery — the album pushes even further into a more beat-driven sound than their earlier work. This is the 1984 French pressing, featuring different cover photography from the original edition.
