Pulse : Works for Percussion and Strings
New World Records (US) 1997
NW 319 (LP) insert.

The New Music Consort, a group formed in 1975 under the direction of Claire Heldrich and Madeleine Shapiro, released a masterpiece album in 1984, which was officially reissued in 1977. John Cage's "Third Construction" features an ensemble of four percussionists, with minimalist refrains and repetitions of strong and weak blows. Henry Cowell's "Pulse", an ensemble of six percussionists, is also excellent. This is a high quality heavy vinyl.
