This is the first leader album by the German free improviser and saxophonist Peter Brotzmann, who collaborated with the Globe Unity Orchestra and performed with Don Cherry, among other notable accomplishments during his over 50-year career. Sadly, he passed away in July 2023. This album was originally released in 1967 on his private label, BRO. This particular release is a licensed edition by the prestigious free jazz label FMP from 1972. It features a trio with Peter Kowald on bass and Sven-Åke Johansson on drums. The music on this album goes beyond considerations of skill or technique; it's a powerful and energetic free improvisation driven by raw emotion and intensity. It immerses the listener in a constant flood of overflowing waves of sound. Additionally, there is an inscription by Brotzmann himself on the album.
