Second leader album released in 1958 by American tuba player Ray Draper, who released his debut album on Prestige in 1957 at the age of just 16, with John Coltrane as guest. The Quintet with Gil Coggins (p), Spanky De Brest (b) and Larry Ritchie (ds). The tuba in hard bop is quite rare, but the sound is unique, with a rounded, warm and rich low frequency range. Coltrane's unobtrusive tenor playing is also worth listening to. This is a US reissue by Fantasy inc., licensed to Prestge, probably from the late 1980s.
