Released in 1980 by The Trinity, a trio featuring drummer/percussionist Masahiko Togashi and bassist Isao Suzuki — who had already delivered a superb duo performance on the 1979 masterpiece A Day of the Sun — joined here by pianist Hideo Ichikawa. The album incorporates vocoder, electric piano, and even the Solina string ensemble, an early string machine used before the widespread arrival of synthesizers. Moving from standard covers to ethno-spiritual jazz that recalls the atmosphere of the aforementioned A Day of the Sun, this is a truly outstanding session throughout. Excellent from start to finish, but A1 and B1 are especially essential.
