This is the only album released in 1989 by The Two Bass Hit, a one-off project featuring musicians active in the Danish jazz scene since the 1980s, including Hugo Rasmussen (b), Lotte Anker (ts), Soren Eriksen (as), Peter Danstrup (b), Michael Paulsen (ds), and others. Ben Besiakow (p) and Per Trolle (per) participate on only one track. The album is based on a typical bop and modal format, but the leads are not strongly blown, but rather layered with a soft touch that is impressive, and the synthesizers and other instruments are used to create contemporary jazz with a truly Scandinavian feel that occasionally shows up. The moderately reverberated sound is also very pleasing.
