This is a leader album released in 1985 by Vinny Golia, an American lead player who has been active since the 1970s and continues to release works consistently. The quintet features drummer/percussionist Alex Cline, John Fumo (tp,fh), Wayne Peet (p), and Ken Filiano (b). As suggested by the superb artwork, the work has a somewhat mysterious atmosphere, and is a work of avant-jazz that straddles the line between free and mode/bop. The beautiful A3 dedicated to Bill Evans and the bluesy B2 dedicated to Robert Mitchum are excellent.
A3: Lib-Nan-Ave
B2: Squints
