Vinny Golia, an American lead player who has been active since the 70's and continues to release albums consistently, released a leader album in 1983. The trio includes drummer/percussionist Alex Cline and bassist Roberto Miranda, who has released several excellent albums on Nimbus West. A1 draws you in with a saxophone melody that creates an oriental atmosphere, A2 opens with Miranda's distorted bass solo and develops into deep ethnic jazz, and B2 explodes with Cline's strong drum solo. A hidden masterpiece of spiritual free jazz. Recommended for those who like Masahiko Togashi and Toshiyuki Tsuchitori of the free jazz era.
