This is the first album released in 1969 by the Third Ear Band, a band derived from two groups active in London, England in the 1960s. This is the reissue released in 1988 by Drop Out Records in the UK. The album is a creation of very original psychedelics that intertwines the indigenous beat of percussion with the haunting melody of the violin, and as the artwork suggests, it evokes the music of medieval Europe, while at the same time incorporating Middle Eastern/Oriental essences, such as Indian classical music and Arabic music, to some extent. It may be similar to Germany's Popol Vuh in conception.
