Third Kind Of Blue, a trio consisting of three American jazz musicians, Anthony Cox, John Purcell, and Ronnie Burrage, released their only album on Minor Music in Germany in 1986. All songs are original compositions by the members, and as the group's name suggests, it is a contemporary jazz work developed in the new mode jazz style inherited from Miles Davis. The grooves of A2 and B3, which include vocals by all three members, are quite cool, with a hint of the 70s spiritual jazz influence of Miles and Archie Shepp from the electric era. The deep jazz with an urban atmosphere of modal jazz and the oriental melodies of ECM's works are also very good. Recommended.

A2: Upon Arrival
B3: Colette's Interlude
