Danish jazz pianist Thomas Clausen, known for his participation in Palle Mikkelborg's Group and the group Mirror, as well as his performances with visiting Danish soloists Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Ben Webster, Joe Henderson and Elvin Jones, recorded a trio album in 1980. With the exception of B1, all the pieces are composed by Thomas Clausen. A1 is an emotional tune that shakes you up while maintaining its coolness. In A2, the bass solo intertwined with the minimalist refrain of the piano arpeggio is very pleasing. B2 has a great development, with the tension building up towards the second half. It's essential contemporary jazz that combines the lyricism and urban sensibility common to the ECM works of Scandinavian musicians.
