Thomas Clausen Trio
She Touched Me
M.A Music (Germany) 1988
A 628-1 (LP) coated sleeve.
sleeve : NM-
media : EX+/EX+(some slightly noise.)
Released in 1988, this leader album by Danish jazz pianist Thomas Clausen — known for his work with Palle Mikkelborg’s Group and Mirror, as well as for collaborations with visiting soloists such as Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Ben Webster, Joe Henderson, and Elvin Jones, and for his superb 1982 album Rain — features a trio with Mads Vinding (b) and Alex Riel (ds). Recorded the same year in a studio in Copenhagen, Denmark, the album presents a refined set of contemporary jazz built on elegant arrangements, drawing from Clausen’s own original compositions alongside jazz standards by Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. Highlights include B1, a beautifully subdued reading of a Gershwin standard, and A3, whose serene landscape-like mood strongly recalls the quiet beauty of Rain.
B1: The Man I Love
B3: Steve
