This is a live recording of the duo album "Kizashi" released in 1980 by Yosuke Yamashita, Japan's world-famous free jazz pianist, and Masahiko Togashi, Japan's great drummer/percussionist, who developed his own unique playing style and continued to perform despite being paralyzed by a spinal cord injury. It is a live recording of a live performance at Tokyo Yakult Hall in December of the same year, and the music is completely different from the aforementioned studio album, which is not surprising since the entire album is mostly improvised. The tense interplay that unfolds in a slow and steady manner is unique. The sound is so well grained that it is hard to believe it is a live recording. Masahiko Togashi's percussion is amazing in all of his works.
