Tom Howard is a composer from Nashville, USA, who debuted as a folk-rock singer in the mid-late seventies and shifted to a contemporary/new age style over time. The album, released in 1986, is the only one under the Tom Howard Ensemble name, and showcases an acoustic touch to New Age music, from chamber music to ethnic jazz, with reed instruments such as woodwinds and recorders, and musicians playing percussion and strings, as well as synthesizers. The ensemble is very pleasing to the ear, with a beautiful, spacey feel. It's good to see that this type of new age music has finally been re-evaluated.
