Tomas Gubitsch
Sonata Domestica
IDA (France) 1986
Ida 005 (LP)
sleeve : NM-(SOC)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noise.)
Argentinian guitarist and composer Tomás Gubitsch, born in Buenos Aires and known for performing with modern tango masters such as Astor Piazzolla and Rodolfo Mederos, as well as serving as a supporting member of Invisible, the group led by Luis Alberto Spinetta, released this little-known gem as his second solo album in 1986 on the French minor label IDA. Throughout the record, he presents essential contemporary tango rooted firmly in the traditions of Argentine tango guitar while incorporating modern arrangements. On B1, although the mood of the composition differs entirely, you can hear electric-guitar tones reminiscent of his work with Invisible. The overall sonic character is close to that of ECM productions. Highly recommended.
A1 : Buenos Vientos
