This is a masterpiece live recording album of a performance at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in 1971 by Sutomu Yamash'ta, a Japanese percussionist who has made a name for himself in the field of classical and contemporary music since the late 1960s. This is a reissue of the album released in 1980 on Nippon Columbia's Denon label in the "Contemporary Japanese Music 1500" series. The album features the participation of Japanese musicians Fujisha Roetsu and Fujisha Suiho. Side A features a work composed for chamber orchestra and percussion by H. Tircut, a well-known critic, in 1962, and Side B features a three-movement work composed for a performance with Fujisha Roetsu and Fujisha Suimine while staying at Takemitsu Toru's house after his secret return to Japan in 1970. The world of sound rich in emotional expression that unfolds along with the playing of classical Japanese instruments such as the tsuzumi and yokobue is most wonderful.
