This album was released in 1985 and features four compositions by Toshi Ichiyanagi, a leading figure in minimal music who was one of the first in Japan to be exposed to the music of John Cage, introduced his theories to his own compositional methods, and introduced John Cage and other American avant-garde music to Japan in the early 1960s. All the pieces are duo works with different or the same instruments: marimba and piano for A1, harp and piano for A2, two pianos for B1, and violin and piano for B2. This is environmental music in a sense. All of them are avant-garde in orientation, with randomly flitting melodies intermingling and sounds resonating and circulating like an afterimage.
