A very obscure item has arrived. This is the first album released in 1990 by Trio Grande, a group of three German musicians: Silke Reichmann, Hans Lang, and Hartmut Volker, on a minor label. The album features original compositions that carry on the tradition of European folk music, using instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, darabukka, djembe, conga, and flute. The simple rhythms created by various percussion instruments, combined with the drone and melody of the hurdy-gurdy, create a wonderfully comfortable sound with a mysterious exotic atmosphere.
