This album was released in 1988 by Grupo Sierra Maestra, a Cuban band formed in 1976. The group's concept is to revive the Latin song, which is the original form of salsa and the basic rhythm of mambo and cha-cha-cha. This is an excellent piece of work where you can hear the old style song throughout. If you like Ry Cooder's "Buena Vista Social Club", you should definitely check this out.
