A leader album released in 1985 by Swedish pianist Utsava Goran Strandberg, who also played an active role as a member of the group Communication led by Red Mitchell. This album features a piano trio with Jan Adefelt (b) and Rune Carlsson (dr). The trio visited Ringvinda, located at the northernmost tip of Gotland, an island in the Baltic Sea. Inspired by the scenery reminiscent of Japanese ink paintings, they reflected that imagery in their music. Tracks like A2, with its delicate piano playing and memorable hooks between songs, leave a strong impression. B2, on the other hand, showcases melodies with a somewhat ethnic vibe and a backing full of groove, capturing the essence of Nordic flexibility and allure. Highly recommended.
