Released in 1982, this compilation brings together tracks by artists who helped define the German new wave scene of the early 1980s. Among the highlights are B6 by Michael Rother, who released numerous masterpieces on the Sky label, and B7 by Die Gesunden, whose excellent work appeared on Innovative Communication, the label founded by Klaus Schulze. The album also includes major-label breakthrough acts such as Trio, Hubert Kah, Spliff, and Ideal, alongside more obscure groups including Jawoll, who disappeared from the scene after releasing a single album, as well as Mau Mau and Konec. Featuring tracks by 16 different artists, it is a strong and well-selected overview of the period. The artwork is exceptionally cool as well.
