The second volume of a compilation album released in 1989, featuring a collection of songs by Brazilian artists signed to the Philips label. It primarily includes legendary artists essential to MPB such as Gal Costa, Jorge Ben, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tim Maia, and Joao Gilberto, as well as tracks by Marina, Angela Roro, Luis Caldas, Elba Ramalho, Geronimo, and Margareth Menezes. The songs span a wide period from 1978 to 1989, but it's a nice compilation enveloped in a tropical "saudade" feeling that transcends the era gap, ranging from danceable to mellow. (Chee)
