A four-LP box set released in 1970 as part of Philips’ Prospective 21e Siècle series, curated by François Bayle and Pierre Henry, both responsible for numerous landmark works of experimental and contemporary music. An astonishing collection bringing together electronic music by composers active in Paris, Tokyo, Utrecht, and Warsaw. The Japanese contingent includes Toshiro Mayuzumi, Makoto Moroi, Maki Ishii, and Minao Shibata. Elsewhere, the set features an extraordinary cast including Bayle himself, a collaborative work by Pierre Henry and Pierre Schaeffer, Luc Ferrari, as well as rare electronic compositions by Dutch and Polish composers. A compilation of immense historical and cultural significance, with uniformly superb sound quality throughout. Complete with the 16-page booklet, original inner sleeves, cushioning material, and all other original inserts.
