Released in 1976 as the first volume in Kkua Records’ Home Grown series, this album compiles works by artists active in Hawaii during the 1970s. Highlights include A3 by Breezin’, where light acoustic guitar strumming and refreshing chorus vocals flow through the track, and B2 by Country Living, a breezy piece built on a simple cabasa rhythm, acoustic guitar, and cool, easygoing vocals. Throughout the album, a variety of styles—country, folk, blues, soft rock, and more—are brought together with a consistently breezy Hawaiian atmosphere. A lovely collection filled with nice, easygoing tunes from start to finish. An essential record for the coming summer season. Recommended.
