The Album featuring stage music created for the 1982 performance of Leedvermaak by Tonnelschool Amsterdam, a theatre/dance academy in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, now operating under the name Academie voor Theater en Dans. Composed by Mourice Horsthuis, an improvisational musician who has also collaborated with Lol Coxhill, text by poet Judith Herzberg and performed by Toneelgroep Baal. It is a very interesting piece of theatre music with a very interesting content, and also characterised by a mixture of contemporary and free jazz elements. Minimalism in the vein of Philip Glass and Michael Nyman is evident throughout. A2 sounds like Yasuaki Shimizu with his saxophone phrases.
