This is a masterpiece album released in 1976 as the first installment of Tangent Records' Music in the World of Islam series. Six albums were released in the same year, and this one is titled "The Human Voice" and contains various chants handed down in Islamic cultures ranging from Algeria/Egypt in North Africa to Sudan/Ethiopia in East Africa, Iraq/Iran/UAE/Afghanistan in the Middle East, and South India. Each country in the Islamic world has its own unique characteristics, and it is very interesting to hear the similarities among them. The recording is excellent, and the world of sound is captivating. This series is all excellent.
