This is the third compilation album released in 1986 by Re Records, a sub-label of the long-established UK label Recommended Records, which was founded by Chris Cutler in 1978. It compiles tracks from eight affiliated artists, including The Big Guns (featuring Chris Cutler himself), Biota, Robert Wyatt, Roger Turner, Kontroll Csoport, Adrian Mitchell, Cassix, and Nazca. The album features a wide variety of genres, from country rock to experimental and strange rock. Highlights include Biota's concrete noise track A2, which links to various releases on the Milan, Italy-based label ADN; Robert Wyatt's A3, a simple yet profound combination of synthesizer, drums, and spoken word; and Cassix's B5, an organic and deep ensemble of saxophone and vocals layered over field recordings. No accessories included.
