Released in 1982 from King Records' "Folk Music Library" series, this album introduces traditional Korean music performed by instrumental ensembles. This album focuses on Korean folk instruments and songs, and includes solo performances on the gayageum (zither) and taegeum (transverse flute), songs, and a song called pansori. A2 is a solo performance by tayagum of a suite of wind and string ensembles called pingtong kaesang, a melody influenced by traditional Chinese music. The melody is influenced by traditional Chinese music and also by Japanese shakuhachi music. In any case, there are many pieces in this series that are very good in both content and sound quality.
