Originally released in 1985 by the Iceland Music Information Centre, which houses a vast collection of works by Icelandic composers, this album features violin compositions by Karolina Eiriksdottir, Jon Nordal, Askell Msson The album features violin music composed in the 1970s and 1980s by Icelandic composers such as Jonas Tomasson and Thorkell Sigurbjornsson. The violinist is Gudny Gudmundsdottir, who studied at the Eastman School of Music and the Juilliard School, and was the first concertmaster of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra from 1974 to 2010. The music is very much in tune with the country's culture. It reminds me of the unique landscape of Iceland, which is located just south of the Arctic Circle. Above all, the sound is very good. Please give it a try.
