The Dragon
Oxford Records (Italy) 1981
OX/3196 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(some small wear on back, one slightly wrinkle.)
media : EX+/EX+(some slightly surface noises, still good condition.)

The late Greek composer/synthesist Vangelis Papathanassiou, who emerged with the psychedelic rock group Aphrodite's Child, which he formed with Demis Roussos and others, and whose solo career since then is well known, has released in 1978. It is featuring previously unreleased tracks recorded in London in 1971. Side A, the title track, is an acoustic guitar strummed to an indigenous percussion beat with elements of traditional Greek music, which has something in common with Arabic folk music, and a distorted, undulating bass. B1 is organic psychedelic ambient with beautiful acoustic sounds, B2 is speedy psychedelic jazz-rock, and everything is flawless. This is an Italian pressing in 1981.

A1: The Dragon
B1: Stuffed Aubergine
