Victoria Eleison was formed in 1982 by Kester Emeneya, who had left Papa Wemba's group Viva La Musica, and released this album in 1984. Kester Emeneya's voice is soaring on lead vocals, but it's the backing band that really shines on this album, with the bass playing groovy rhythms with a mellow tone and the drums rolling on the snare at times. The mix puts the vocals and guitars front and centre, with the rhythm section in the background.
