An album released in 1969 by the prestigious German label Deutsche Grammophon, featuring Slovenian-French composer and trombonist Vinko Globokar, a central figure of New Phonic Art. The album includes works by Globokar himself and three other contemporary composers.
Track A1, composed by Globokar, is a fascinating piece that boldly incorporates improvisation and acoustic effects. Track A2, by Italian composer Luciano Berio, is the fifth work in his "Sequenza" series, a long-standing exploration of solo instruments and voice. Track B1, by Karlheinz Stockhausen, employs feedback with melodic instruments and electronic modulation, delivering thick, resonant electronic sounds that are both dynamic and stimulating. Track B2, by French composer Carlos Roque Alsina, is a solo trombone piece that also integrates vocal elements.
Despite the different composers, the album maintains a remarkable sense of cohesion throughout.
