Original soundtrack album for the 1977 film "The Village of Eight gravestones," written by Seishi Yokomizo and directed by Yoshitaro Nomura. The music is composed by composer Yasun Akutagawa, the third son of novelist Ryunosuke Akutagawa, who formed the "Society of Three" with Toshiro Mayuzumi and Ikuma Dan in the early 1950s, and has since left numerous works in the field of film and broadcast music, mainly orchestral scores. Performed by the New Chamber Music Society. The work is mysterious and grandiose in style, yet has a very wonderful dramatic development that somehow evokes Japanese taste and emotion. Like Toru Takemitsu and Toshiro Mayuzumi, the music is wonderful in that it evokes images just by listening to the music, even if you have not seen the film.
