Inner Space
Enja Records/Polydor (Japan) 1977
28MJ 3148 (LP) Promotional copy.
sleeve : EX (slightly scuffed corners)
media : EX+/EX+ (some slight surface noise in parts)
This is a duo album released in 1974 by Enja, featuring Japan's proud free jazz pianist Yosuke Yamashita and German jazz bassist Adelhard Roidinger, whose works such as "Computer & Jazz Project" and the renowned ECM album "Schattseite" were featured in the guidebook "OBSCURE SOUND." It's a superb work where the intense interplay between Yosuke Yamashita and Adelhard Roidinger unfolds throughout, marked by Yamashita's piano with its sharply defined, strong attacks and Roidinger's thick-toned wood bass growling out melodies, as heard in A2. The furious improvisation lasting 18 minutes in B1 is particularly impressive.
A2: Tight Pants
B1: Green Wave
