This is the 1970 masterpiece album by American saxophonist Albert Ayler, who made a name for himself as a pioneer of avant-garde jazz in 1960s New York. Featuring Bobby Few (p), Bill Folwell, Stanford James (b), Muhammad Ali (ds), Mary Maria (vo), and Canned Heat's guitarist Henry Vestine, the album includes recordings from a 1969 session at a New York studio. On A2, Ayler plays two bagpipe parts, while on B4, Vestine performs two guitar parts using overdubbing techniques. The highlight is undoubtedly the title track, A1, where Ayler's emotional blowing and Maria's vocals lead you into a cosmic sound world, making it a historically significant piece.
A1: Music is the Healing Force of the Universe
A2: Mosaic Inborn (Part 1)
B4: Drudgery
