A leader album released in 1984 by American pianist Amina Claudine Myers, who has participated in the works of free jazz musicians such as Lester Bowie, Muhal Richard Abrams, and Anthony Braxton. This is a trio album with Reggie Nicholson (per,vo) and Thomas Palmer (b). The title track, A1, features minimalistic bass, open drums, and piano interplay with chants, while A2, and B3, with its psychedelic dancing Hammond organ, is black psychedelia comparable to the early JAPO masterpiece "The Call" with Mal Waldron and Jimmy Jackson. This is so wonderful stuff, but, it is hard to believe that it is not well-known.
