This is the first leader album released in 1968 by Anthony Braxton, a member of Chicago's avant-garde art organization AACM, who has recorded more than 100 works since the 1960s playing a variety of lead instruments. The album features fellow AACM members such as Leroy Jenkins, Leo Smith, and Richard Abrams, each of whom plays a diverse set of instruments. A1 and B1 are titled like Braxton's unique graphic score, and the various percussion groups and voices are spirally interspersed to create a soundscape that could be described as a collection of sounds. This concept was carried over to the next generation of musicians such as George Lewis and Douglas Ewart in the late 1970s and beyond. This is the reissue of the 1974 US rpressing with a different cover.
