This is a masterpiece album released from ECM in 1980 by Art Ensemble of Chicago, a group from Chicago, USA, which develops free/experimental jazz with roots in African traditional music. The first half of the album is filled with various organic sound effects such as chimes, gongs, bells and cries of chickens. A1 is over 19 minutes of cosmic jazz that unfolds into a world of raging chaos. The great thing about these guys, however, is the organic feeling that lurks within such avant-garde orientation.
