A 1982 album by Azymuth, one of the finest groups in Brazilian jazz-funk and fusion, featuring José Roberto Bertrami, Alex Malheiros, and Ivan Conti. Released a decade after the group’s formation, the album captures the trio at the height of their powers, with an extraordinary level of interplay between all three musicians. Azymuth are of course especially renowned for Bertrami’s rolling, fluid electric piano, and this album offers plenty of his playing at its very best. Every track is excellent, but B4, dedicated to Milton Nascimento, is particularly recommended. Its meltingly mellow atmosphere and light, flowing Brazilian groove come together in an almost indescribable rush of euphoria. Among Azymuth’s many great tracks, this surely ranks as one of their finest.

A3: Through the Window
A4: Remembering Milton
B1: Festa Nativa
