The first album by Chris Beckers' Splash, a group featuring Dutch guitarist Chris Beckers, Herman Wolters (p,keys), Wim Dykgraaf (b), Gerry Brown (dr), and Eddie Conard (per), was released in 1983. The album features guest appearances by Dick Morrissey, an English saxophonist who has worked with Morrissey Mullen and Soft Machine, and Lilian Day Jackson, a female singer. The album features three tracks: A1, a cool white funk reminiscent of Shakatak's classic "Night Birds"; B2, a beachside summer fusion with a melancholic electric piano melody; and B3, a soft-touch synthesizer and electric piano solo over a percussion beat. B3 is a cool fusion with a lot of Brazilian flavors. I recommend the mellow breezy urban jazz funk B1, which features soulful vocals over a light rhythm of synth drums and the sparkling sound of clean-toned electric guitar and digital synthesizer. A4: Alaska
B1: Keep On Dancin'
