This album was released in 1976 as the first album after transffered to A&M Records by Argentine tenor saxophonist Gato Barbieri, who made his debut in the 60s and left behind many progressive Latin jazz works full of spirituality in the 70s. The album features many great players from the US jazz fusion world, including Eric Gale, Ralph MacDonald, Mtume, Randy Brecker, Lenny White, and David Spinozza, and is a dramatic and emotional album that combines Barbieri's characteristic nostalgic Latin feeling with soul and funk. Herb Alpert's production skills are also outstanding.
