Hamza El Din
A Song of the Nile
Victor (Japan) 1982
SGS-32 (LP) w/insert.
sleeve : EX-(SRW, some slightly dirts.)
media : EX+/EX+(some slightly surface noises, still good condition.)

This is an album by Hamza El Din, an oud player who inherits the traditional music of Nubia, the name of the area around Aswan in southern Egypt and Sudan, released in 1982 from JVC's "Digital Superlative Sound" series. In addition to the oud, El Din also plays Tar, a large percussion instrument of the same type as the tambourine, handclaps, and vocals, and sings Nubian poetry based on Arabic music. This is a wonderful piece of music to experience in high quality sound. The melody of the oud and the beat of the tah that vibrates in the air like a wave while repeating the refrain are very minimalistic.

A1: Oud Duo
B1: Hamayala
B4: El Hilwatu
